One-on-One Financial Planning Sessions Offered by the Intervale Center

Borrowing Money: When is it right and can I pay it back?

Do you have questions about your farms ability to service a loan, what the right type of loan may be for your farm, how to do financial planning around receiving a loan, or how to know if a loan for a capital investment would be worth it for your business? Are you interested in creative financing models for your farm or how to finance a land purchase?

The Intervale Center is offering aspiring and beginning farmers (0-10 years) one on one coaching sessions with farm business advisors around farm business debt. We have 15 2-hour sessions available from now until August of 2014.

Sessions are available with:

  • Sam Smith, Agricultural Business Specialist at the Intervale Center

(Offering sessions at the NOFA-VT Winter Conference and beginning immediately from our offices at the Intervale in Burlington)

  •  Mark Canella, Farm Business Management Specialist at UVM Extension

(Offering sessions January 6th and January 30th in South Burlington)

  •   Ben Waterman, Beginning Farmer and Land Access Specialist at UVM Extension

(Offering sessions beginning immediately in St. Johnsbury, Morrisville or Burlington. On farm visits available for farms in the Islands, Franklin, Lamoille, Washington, Orleans, Caledonia, or Essex counties)
