The Vermont Land Trust seeks long-term partnership with an organization or individual to manage or lease a 180-acre farm (approximately 100 tillable) in Jeffersonville, VT.
House with 50-cow barn milking setup (funding available for improvements). All types of agricultural plans considered. Sound resource management plan required and community connection or educational component desired.
The Vermont Land Trust is looking to partner with a highly qualified individual or organization to develop a new farm enterprise on 180 acres of farmland owned by VLT in Jeffersonville, Vermont.
VLT is in a position to make substantial capital investments including upgrading and improving existing barns and building new infrastructure to support the new enterprise. They are seeking well thought out and creative concepts that further our goals for the property, which are to:
- Enhance the productivity of the property’s agricultural soils and other ecological values
- Facilitate economically viable farm use on the property
- Develop farm enterprises and/or value-added agricultural operations that promote the economic well-being of the community
- Implement community engagement, land stewardship demonstration practices, and/or educational activities on the property
