Linking Healthcare and a Sustainable Food System

The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy Food and Community Fellows posted a great story about a “new farmer” couple in Michigan. This story highlights the connection between healthcare and creating a sustainable food system.

  1. Having health insurance is not the same as getting good health care but it is one of the first steps in the process. Most struggling farmers and their families based on income guidelines would be eligible for health insurance through Vermont Green Mountain Care. Check it out at http://www.greenmountaincare.org/
