FREE Tickets to Dorset Theatre Fest

The Dorset Theatre Festival has launched and expanded their Giving Back program to provide tickets to performances throughout the summer season.  Local farmers, veterans, National Guard members, EMS responders, police and firefighters in the community are eligible for tickets for themselves and their family members to each of the four main stage productions.

“We wanted to recognize the outstanding contribution of our service workers and military personnel,” explained Dina Janis, Artistic Director of DTF.  “These are members of our community who give back to us every single day, and they deserve our thanks. We are grateful to the businesses and individuals who lend their support to this initiative.”

For the second year in a row, local students are encouraged to attend live theater through their participation and graduation  in the Refuse to Use program.  Members of the special needs community are encouraged to attend as part of DTF’s Giving Back programs, and teachers can come on a buy 1/get 1 ticket promotion.

To receive Giving Back tickets call the Box Office at 802-867-2223.  Performances are Wednesday – Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. Visit our website at for specific dates and times.

Our First Show of the Season: Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire

Good People centers on Margie, a hard-luck single mom from Boston’s Southie who can’t catch a break. Laid off from her job at the Dollar Store, she tries to get in touch with her old flame who escaped the neighborhood, married a much younger woman, and became a successful doctor. This play takes a fascinating look at the divide between working-class people and those who manage to “move up” to a more financially secure life. “I can’t think of a more timely play in that it looks at the have and have nots: who these folks really are, not just the bites, at a time when our country and the world seem to be focused on this very questions,” says Dina Janis, Artistic Director.
