RAFFL’s next summer workshop is Wednesday, July 13–that’s next week already! Join Greg Cox, owner of Boardman Hill Farm, for an overview of their poultry operation, a discussion of Vermont poultry regulations, and a step-by-step slaughtering demonstration. This workshop will be useful for beginning farmers, farm apprentices, and seasoned farmers looking to start or refine their on-farm poultry processing.

After the workshop, RAFFL will host one of its quarterly mixers for area farmers. The mixer will be potluck style, so bring a dish! Come for the workshop, the mixer, or both. More details about the mixer to come…
About the Farm
Boardman Hill is a 10 acre certified organic farm, growing bedding plants, vegetable starts, and hanging baskets in spring; fruits and vegetables in the summer; and pork, chickens, and turkey throughout the year.
Directions to 1030 Boardman Hill Road, West Rutland: Take Route 4 west from Rutland. Take exit 6 towards VT-4/VT-3/Proctor/West Rutland. Take Left at the end of the exit ramp. This road becomes Boardman Hill Road after passing under the highway. Take Boardman Hill Road up the hill for about a mile. Farm is on the right, look for the sign. Parking: Park in loop in front of the first greenhouses you reach on the left. After parking, follow the driveway toward the house. The workshop will take place at the barn.
