In FY 2010, USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) obligated $13 million for 2,422 seasonal high tunnels in 43 states for an average price of $5,367. After a quick look at the amounts approved across the country, at average of $9,016 each, Maine may have had the highest amount approved for their 19 tunnels in the first year of this initiative. The number of high tunnels ranged quite a lot between states. The least number of high tunnels ranged from a low of 6 in Wyoming and 8 in Delaware to a high of 184 in Wisconsin at a total cost of $762,518. USDA-NRCS in New Hampshire obligated funds for 79 high tunnels, at one of the highest prices of $8,929 per site. While in Vermont, 79 tunnels were approved obligating a respectful $625,324.
