Hey Folks, if you are planning to sell your farm products to institutions, supermarkets, or through any major distribution company, and are not currently GAP certified, you should plan on attending this workshop.
This afternoon session will be held at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland on November 10, 2010, from 4:30-6 pm.
Click here for directions to St. Joseph’s.
Here in the Rutland area, two large buyers (the Rutland Regional Medical Center and the Rutland Supervisory School District) are interested in buying from GAP certified growers.
RAFFL invites you to attend an introductory session to learn more about how new food safety regulations and GAP certification will affect your farm business.
We will also help connect you with the resources available to help you adapt. This will be an excellent opportunity to ask questions and voice your concerns.
The session will feature presentations by Ginger Nickerson, UVM Extension Center for Sustainable Agriculture GAPs Outreach Coordinator, and Hans Estrin, UVM Extension Local Food Network Coordinator. Ginger, Hans, and a panel of farmers who have successfully passed a GAPs audit will be available to address questions during a question and answer session following the presentations.
If these issues are of interest to you, you are also encouraged to attend one of the upcoming day-long workshops hosted by UVM-Extension and NOFA-VT in Colchester or White River Junction. Please click here for more information.
