SEED SAVER, ANN MILLER, SEEKS GARDEN INTERNS
Central Vermont gardener and preeminent seed saver Ann Miller is seeking interns this summer to help in her gardens in exchange for learning about gardening and seed saving.
Ann saves a variety of seeds including corn, cucurbits, tomatoes, peppers, beets, lettuce and onions. Tasks include weeding, processing seed, hand pollination, trellising tomatoes, and pruning. Activities may include formation of a gardener’s club – rotating and working in each other’s gardens, and field trips to other seed savers gardens (after the work is done in Ann’s!).
She would prefer interns to come one morning or afternoon a week. Scheduling can be flexible, and Ann would like enough consistency to really train the interns.
Don’t miss this rare invitation to work with a skilled seed saver and learn this highly critical skill of saving unique seed and promoting plant diversity.
Please call Annie McCleary at 456-8122 and she’ll put you in touch with Ann.
