No matter how much education or training new farmers have before starting farms on their own, there are still plenty of times when help is needed. There’s no question that long-term formal mentor relationships are difficult to sustain. But, what about a new farmer getting help in the form of an email or 15 minute phone call? We think it could work!
The Mentor Directory lists farmers who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. The directory describes areas of knowledge each established farmer is willing to discuss, and how new farmers can reach them. This respects farmers’ valuable time, while still offering new farmers access to the wisdom of experience. View a list of participating farmers.
